| Honolulu Academy of Arts |
| The Academy is Hawaii's only general art museum, and its holdings, almost equally divided between Western and Asian art, are encyclopedic in nature and scope. The Western collections encompass ancient to contemporary times as the holdings range from Cycladic, Greek, Roman, and Egyptian works from as early as the third millennium B.C. to American and European arts of the 1990s. The Asian collection is one of the museum's principal strengths and is generally considered to be among the most important assemblages of its kind in American museums. In addition, the traditional arts of Africa, the Pacific, and the Americas are well represented.
